Wisdom of the Mysics
"You've got to invest in something before withdrawing."
-Scott Stratten
This week's message is truly a recognition that wisdom comes from all places. It's not only from "spiritual" mystics or gurus. On my flight to Los Angeles I read a book that's been on my bookshelf for about a year. The book? "UnMarketing" by Scott Stratten. Yes, it is true, I'm interested in books beyond the Science of Mind.
There is a great lesson in the quote, today, that goes beyond the typical. How invested are you in your own life? What have you invested in your own experience? Have you truly invested in your spiritual practice, or are you trying to withdraw your spiritual currency early? It is common and tempting in the Science of Mind to jump right in and think that the ills of life are going to change immediately, but more often than not, this is not the case. Why? There may still be a beliefs in doubts or fears at work, and it is the belief that is creating your life.
So, how do you change the pattern? Invest in your spiritual practice. Deeply commit to the recognition and embodiment of the Divine nature that is inherently you! Make a regular practice of spiritual tools that support you. These tools may be meditation, prayer, or even the practice of playing a musical instrument. Whatever they are, invest in them.
How do you make your withdrawal once the investment is made (and continues to be made)? The truth is, you're already withdrawing on your spiritual account. The spiritual investments you make on a regular basis ensure you will never be spiritually depleted! If you are making your withdrawal on a depleted account, or one into which you've not made an initial investment, then you may find yourself withdrawn...literally...from life.
So today renew your commitment to yourself and make "spiritual investments" your regular practice!

Scott Stratten has the idea. It's not about marketing really, but about an awareness campaign. We use our lives as our primary advertising. People see who we are, not what we say. If you're truly happy it shows. Show, don't tell. When you glow authentically, life-force is attracted to that. Investing in your own life means jumping in with both feet, laying it on the line. It means there's passion and purpose behind your action. That's shows. It draws good to you attracting the people and things you desire, and attracting you to what works best for you.
What do investments do? They appreciate over time. Why not start appreciating now?
